Recent Studies Reveal Positive Impact of Juice on Lifestyle Behaviors

Growing research continues to highlight the benefits of drinking 100% juice. Over the years, several studies have linked juice consumption to a variety of healthy behaviors in both adults and children.

The latest is a French study  published in Nutrients, which found that adults who consumed approximately half a cup of 100% fruit juice per day had healthier diets, and additionally experienced no increase in weight. Specifically, this group consumed less alcohol, and had higher intakes of fruit, vegetables, dairy, fiber, and various vitamins and minerals.

Another study observing adults in Sweden reached similar results, linking juice consumption to a healthy diet and lack of weight gain. This study additionally revealed other benefits, including a positive correlation between 100% juice consumption and increased physical activity, as well as a lower incidence of smoking. The research was published in the International Journal of Food Sciences and Nutrition.

Both studies support the growing body of evidence linking 100% juice consumption to healthy behaviors in adults, and find no association between juice intake and weight gain.  Research has identified comparable findings in children. A study from the International Journal of Child Health & Nutrition evaluated the diets of children aged 2 to 18, and found that juice drinkers had higher intakes of whole fruit and many key nutrients, including vitamin C, magnesium, and potassium.  In addition, no increase in weight was detected.

These findings continue to demonstrate the important role of 100% juice in a healthy diet and lifestyle. For more nutrition-backed information and resources on 100% juice, download our Toolkit.
