A new study Consumption of 100% Juice and Diluted 100% Juice Is Associated with Better Compliance with Dietary Guidelines for Americans found people who consumed 100% juice had a higher diet quality (i.e., less added sugar and more total fruit, more potassium, calcium, and vitamin C) and Health Eating Index 2020 (HEI-2020) scores. The study also showed most people’s consumption levels aligned with recommendations from the Dietary Guidelines for Americans and the American Academy of Pediatrics, and while there was no evidence of the displacement of whole fruit, 100% juice served as an important fruit source for populations with limited access to whole fruit.
