A new study Consumption of 100% Juice and Diluted 100% Juice Is Associated with Better Compliance with Dietary Guidelines for Americans found people who consumed 100% juice had a higher diet quality (i.e., less added sugar and more total fruit, more potassium, calcium, and vitamin C) and Health Eating Index 2020 (HEI-2020) scores. The study also showed most people’s consumption levels aligned with recommendations from the 2020-2025 Dietary Guidelines for Americans and the American Academy of Pediatrics, and while there was no evidence of the displacement of whole fruit, 100% juice served as an important fruit source for populations with limited access to whole fruit.
