Halloween Juice Worms

This fun and easy-to-make Halloween treat will make everyone squeal with intrigue and delight.
Prep Time: 20 minutes
Cook Time: 0 minutes
Total Time: 20 minutes (+ 8 1/2 hours standing time)
Makes: 30
Ingredients:
4 pkg (each 0.25 oz or 2 1/2 tsp) unflavored gelatin
2 cups Grape Juice, divided
2 tbsp 35% whipping cream
Ice cubes
Instructions:
1. Sprinkle gelatin over 1 cup juice; let stand for 10 minutes, then stir together. Meanwhile in small saucepan, bring remaining juice to boil; stir in gelatin mixture. Remove from heat; stir for about 2 minutes or until gelatin is completely dissolved. Transfer half of the mixture into measuring cup with spout. Transfer remaining mixture into separate measuring cup with spout; stir in cream. Let stand for 10 to 15 minutes or until cooled.
2. Meanwhile, wrap 30 wide milkshake straws (not bendy straws) together with elastic band. Place in Mason jar or tall glass just wide enough to fit straws snuggly. Place in heatproof bowl; fill bowl with ice, then pour in ice-cold water to top (ice water bath will help gelatin mixture set).
3. Carefully divide each gelatin mixture among straws, pouring in gently, and leaving 1-inch headspace at top. Let stand for 10 minutes. Remove Mason jar from water bath; refrigerate Mason jar overnight or until juice mixture inside straws is completely set.
4. Remove Mason jar from fridge, dip into a little warm water to loosen juice mixture in straws. Remove straws from Mason jar and remove elastic band, dipping in warm water as needed.
5. Using headspace in straws, squeeze out juice worms with fingertips to remove from straws, dipping in warm water as needed. (Can be refrigerated for up to 2 days.)
Tip: Use different flavors of juice to make juice worms of different colors ¬– try orange, apple or pomegranate.

Boost the fright factor at your party with this quick and easy concoction that makes the perfect spooky garnish. While grape juice is our go-to for this recipe, experiment with different juice flavors for a fun splash of color. Why not try creating orange, apple, or pomegranate worms as well? Making these treats is almost more fun than eating them.
